High Sun Protection lotions – When planning which is the best Sun Screen to take with you on holiday, many different factors must be taken into account. As you probably already know, when used properly, Sunscreens help to control the amount of potentially harmful effects of the sun.
The list below shows you a range of the Sunscreen products with an SPF Factor of 50 and above. Generally, a sunscreen or lotion with an SPF of 50+ blocks. However, it should be noted that in order for the more potentially harmfull UVA rays to be blocked as well, you should ensure that the lotion being used is classified as ‘broad spectrum’ sunscreen.
Please note that different sunscreens or lotions often contain different ingredients.
It should also be noted that it is very important to follow the instructions as laid out by the manufacturer which may vary from product to product.
However, we believe that there are several general ‘ground rules’ which should be adhered to when applying sun screen.
Firstly, if you plan to use Suncreen or Sunblock which from a previous holiday, you should ensure that the product is still within its recommended date period otherwise the effectiveness may be compromised.
Secondly, for maximum affect, ensure that all areas of your body requiring protection are covered librerally and allowed to sink into the skin, and more importantly that lotions should be re applied at least every 2 hours unless otherwise advised.
Thirdly, care should be taken to reapply lotions after swimming or following sitting or towelling down because this may have removed more of the lotion than you thought, thus reducing the effectivenes of the product.
